All of us know someone who life has been affected by Cancer.
There are things we can do to help in the fight.
Some of those things are tough to do, i.e….Convince your daughter she needs to quit smoking,
Quit smoking ourselves, Have surgery when it’s imminent that we have the surgery, Stand by your friend/relative when there is little hope.
I know these things because that is my history with my friends and family.
I can tell you something that’s very easy to do….Send a few dollars to Relay For Life of Puyallup, Come walk with us, Tell your friends and family to come walk with us, Get involved and encourage some one else to send more than a few dollars.
Any help is great help. If it’s still too fresh in your mind and you just want to talk before you can walk…..Call me. My friend left us last month. My Mother went 6 years ago this month. Sometimes it seems like last week. It’s tough today and it will be tough tomorrow. If you have ever been to Children’s Hospital, you know what I mean. Check out the website:

You may have noticed that there are a few Starbucks locations in Puyallup.
Some like it, some think it’s too strong, some like their breakfast treats, some just like to hang out there and work on their laptop. I have a daughter who loves the coffee. I have another daughter who has worked for Starbucks. She claims it’s a great company to work for, e.g., insurance, stocks, work atmosphere, they even pay you!!!
She says if she didn’t love training horses so much, she’d probably go back there to work.
Now it seems that the locations are popping up everywhere, but actually I only have a couple favorite spots around town. If you enjoy the coffee, you’ll find your own spot.
For me personally, I like my coffee. It seems there is a Starbucks on my way to wherever I’m going. Or, there is a locally owned competitor who also has great coffee and is also on my way.

Some of you may have noticed, or not, a new restaurant just opened last week.
DeCaterina’s is now open for lunch and dinner. A friend and I were there for lunch last Saturday. I had the Black Forest Ham sandwich and it was goooood. It’s not fast food, it is terrific food. It’s right downtown on Meridian by the park, 328 South Meridian. The furnishings are beautiful, the service is right there when you’d expect it, and, well I already mentioned the food. Peter even stopped by my table to say hi! Some of you already know Peter(DeCaterina). He’s been around Puyallup for a while now. If you’d like to check on the menu, hours, or just to say hi….Call 253 848-1553. Hey I’ve got an idea….just drop by. They’re open 11 AM-10 PM.

Puyallup, what a wonderful place to live or visit.
A nice size city, but still has some farmland. The views of the mountains
are awesome. Mt. Rainier is the topic of so many pictures and conversations. I had some friends move here from Florida after seeing The Mountain for the first time. A short drive to the Big cities…Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia and more. I have friends and relatives from Bellingham to Vancouver to Spokane. I have lived mostly all over the state and here is where I call home. It’s convenient to anywhere. The local Chamber of Commerce is very active in the community, from auctions to business classes to helping businesses market themselves. If you are considering the South Puget Sound area, as a possible relocation, look at Puyallup first.
