Some of us have noticed there’s a new Kalles Junior High School almost finished. It’s just east of the old school. It’s looks very nice and I’m hoping will serve us all better than before. It is always so nice to have new public buildings. I was never in the old school, but I can’t help wondering…..How bad was it??? Was it safety issues that caused us to get a new building?? Is it just a matter of time before we replace all the older schools, city buildings, county buildings?? Is it because…..????      I wonder.

Puyallup Man goes on Vacation

I really don’t think of it as a vacation. I just want to get away for a few days. Let my mind wander. Walk on the beach. Think about… how is it that all these crabs come to the beach to die?? Or, something else to take my mind away.  I have always wanted to take a helicopter ride up and down the beach at Seaside and Cannon Beach. As it turns, out you can take a short ride for only $35.00.    So I took a ride, took some pictures, some of them are here for your entertainment.  It’s really not scary like some would think. The pilot kept us occupied with who did what and when, so it took our mind off the fact that we’re 2500 feet above the ground.  I think I want to do this again….Fly I mean!!! It was so much fun.

Dry Ice In Puyallup

We are getting ready to go on vacation, and we realize regular ice won’t be enough. So we think…how about Dry Ice. What is dry ice? Can we make it? Or, where would we get it? Well YES, we could make it. First you have to get carbon dioxide, purify it with alkali carbonate or ethanoamine. With a heat solution the gas is evolved and compress into steel cylinders….

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa….I don’t think I want to do all that! Can’t I just buy it????

Good Question!! Yes, you can…..The only place in Puyallup that we could find that has it, is Marty’s Grocery on River Road. But be careful! It’s very, very cold and will burn you very fast!!!!! So…How about some DRY ICE this summer. Have fun!

FIREWORKS ON LAKE UNION

Wherever we go…There is always a huge crowd for fireworks. The display on Lake Union is always incredible. Did anyone catch the fact that Mick Jagger from the Rolling Stones(a British Band) sang “Start me up!” along with the fireworks??? A Brit helping us celebrate independence from Britain over 230 years ago. Who’d have thought??               I love the Chinook helicopter flying that giant flag around the lake. The cheers when it flies by. I feel the tightness in my throat when it goes by me.

 I find that I’m looking forward to next 4th of July……

Meeker’s Landing in Puyallup

If you haven’t been downtown on East Pioneer lately, you haven’t seen the new building. It’s Called Meeker’ Landing and it’s a new commercial building. Right now it has several businesses downstairs and Keller Williams Realty is the only business upstairs. It is a beautiful building with a different layout. I’d love to show it to you when you’re in the area. Just give me a call, we’ll get together.

Walmart in Yelm

Those names don’t seem to go together. The City of Yelm is growing up fast. All kinds of big names are coming to town. A lot of you have noticed the construction going on in Yelm….Yes, it’s a new Walmart. There are a lot of other names coming. I’m sure you’ve heard them. I will tell you more when I’m sure. For now, you can assume the traffic will not be as easy to deal with as it was several years ago. Well…..Progress!!! Bad or Good??

Honest Puyallup Mechanic

I’ve know Alton for quite a few years now. I used to have a car that he’d help with(off and on). He would tell what was wrong and what it would take to fix it. He was always right on the money. I took my fixer car to him once…….he said:  It sounds like it’s going to be expensive, you might want to think about it some more.     Alton now has his own shop.
