Puyallup Kalles Jr. High Replaced

Here’s are pictures of the New School…..

Some of us have noticed there’s a new Kalles Junior High School almost finished. It’s just east of the old school. It’s looks very nice and I’m hoping will serve us all better than before. It is always so nice to have new public buildings. I was never in the old school, but I can’t help wondering…..How bad was it??? Was it safety issues that caused us to get a new building?? Is it just a matter of time before we replace all the older schools, city buildings, county buildings?? Is it because…..????      I wonder.

Here are pictures of the spot where the old school was….So, what are we going to have here??

Oh boy! Kalles Jr. High use to be the worst school in the inside in all of Puyallup and that was from memory in 1993 when I attended there. I was very sad to see the old building go as I had many memories there but very excited to see the new building fully erect. New building with a cleaner look is what Puyallup needs.

    Thanks for posting this!

Thank you Courtney for your input. It looks like it’s a terrific school from the outside. I’m sure it is beautiful on the inside as well. I wonder what’s happening with the old land??

i was in the old school for two years and it wasnt the best…… it was small and always crowded..the clocks didnt even work at times lol but it was a very good layout i loved the courtyard in the middle of the structure. the empty laND IS GOING TO BE USED FOR the feild/track ect. i cant wait to see the inside of the new school its supposed to have a lot of new technology..
    its exciting

i go to the new kalles and it still isn’t finished inside! there are a lot of people working on it. After lunch you cant go outside because there isnt a courtyard :( And there are cameras EVERYWHERE! And between classrooms the walls move back so while you are in class you can hear what the other class is doing! i dont like that. Other than that the school is great.

i am attending aylen the rival school of kalles and our school is going to be EXACTLY the same as kalles only with red, black, and white.

How funny. I went to the “old” Kalles when it was brand-new in the 80’s, and had been built after the “really old” Kalles from the 50’s had just been torched. In fact, I think I went to Kalles the first year the new-to-me, now-old-to-you building was opened. It was very clean and solid at the time.

The building was, thus, not so very old - only max 20 years. (I am not old either, only 37, but reading your blogs makes me feel ancient.) Cannot imagine for the life of me how poorly a building must be treated and/or have been built in the first place for it to have a life-span of a mere twenty years or less.

    Thank you for contributing, Eleanor.
I’ve seen the same thing happen to newish homes. The wrong people can trash a home in a short time. Yet a home that is 50 years old looks nice.
    I really appreciate you sharing!
