I found this the other day in my mailbox….the Source is Unknown.
I Am Thankful For:
*THE MESS TO CLEAN UP after a party because it means I have been surrounded by friends.
*THE TAXES I PAY because it means I am employed.
* A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING, windows that need washing, and gutters that need cleaning because it means I have a home.
* MY SHADOW WHO WATCHES ME WORK because it means I am out in the sunshine.
* THE SPOT I FIND at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am capable of walking.
* ALL THE COMPLAINING about our government because it means we have freedom of speech.
* MY LARGE HEATING BILL because it means I am warm.
* THE LADY BEHIND ME in church who sings off-key because it means I can hear.
*THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF early in the morning because it means I am alive.
* THE PILES OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING because it means my loved ones are nearby.
* WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES at the end of the day beacause it means I have been productive.

Well folks, the secret is out. The old Kalles school site is going to be a new Puyallup school district Sports Complex. See the pictures from a few weeks ago. This is a wonderful thing for Puyallup! We don’t have enough areas for sports in town. I believe if the city had more places for kids to go….they just might be having too much fun to get in trouble. Well…I guess you could say “That’s just one mans opinion!”

So….What happened to our summer?? Like the famous song says…Is this all there is? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind the rain so much. I like that I don’t have to sprinkle my lawn every night. Some people hate the rain, because they can’t take the boat out or play baseball, or go to the beach. Well, here’s what I think: On a sunny day…Call in sick, take a vacation day, make an excuse…..Whatever, take the day off. Go do something fun! We don’t have that many chances. So…to copy Nike, Just Go Do It!!! You, and the people around you, will be better off.

Some of you may know of the Renaissance Faire in Key Peninsula. They hold it just west of the Purdy Spit. It’s as if you were transported to the 1600’s. Jousting, Knights in Armor, even Captain Jack Sparrow was there. The people and the surroundings are very entertaining. It was fun and I’ll go back again. This coming weekend is the last for this year. August 18-19. Try it! You’ll like it! We did. My granddaughter was here visiting and she thought it was fun too. That’s her posing with Captain Jack! The Picture below… that’s the Queen. Wonder why no one is bowing???
