We were reminded of a story this weekend that needs sharing with you.
You had to have known….or thought… there was more to summer and winter than just that the earth rotates and tilts differently throughout the year. Here you are: positive proof. Well, maybe a positive MYTH……
Once upon a time, a long time ago, there lived a young girl named Persephone(or Kore), daughter of Zeus and Demeter. Demeter was the god of the Harvest.
One day while Persephone was outside playing, Hades rose out of the ground and kidnapped Persephone. Demeter, grief stricken, withdrew into loneliness and the earth ceased to be fertile.
Finally Zeus sent Hermes down to Hades to retrieve Persephone. Hades agreed, but gave Persephone seeds from a Pomegranate. When she ate it, it bound her to the underworld forever and she had to stay there at least one-third of the year. The other months she stayed with her mother.
So….to this day, when Persephone is with Hades, Demeter pouts and refuses to let anything grow.
Well, now you have it!!!
For more information or just to read about the story….click on this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persephone
Below are pictures with more proof for those of you who still doubt!
Pictures of land, real estate in our fair Puyallup.

Pictured above is when Persephone is with her mother and the land is fertile.

This is when Persephone is gone and Demeter causes the earth to be unfertile.
The Moral of the story???
I can’t think of a moral, except….. Buy! When all around you people are losing their heads and selling without thinking!!!!
The land changes….Fertile, then not!! Do you think it’s to keep us on our toes???
Happy New Year to all and Please Drive Safely!!

While I was out looking at property for some clients to buy…..I notice this building.
They are constructing this huge building for the New Ikea Distribution center in South Puyallup. To see it, go to the end of Canyon Road and take a right. You can’t miss it!!!
This building is a huge piece of Real Estate. A person could get lost in this place.

Does anyone need a job??
They are bound to need a few people to work here!!

This article was just published by the News Tribune.com
Governor Gregoire is saying that when people, here in our area, see the National news they think it’s the same bad news here. The economy in Washington State continues to Grow.
Just because someone in some other state can’t afford to buy a home or condo….It doesn’t mean we’re in trouble here at home in Washington.

Here is the proof…That Canyon Road is actually being extended. I know, they’ve been talking about it for a while now. So I’ve brought you some pictures. Maybe you want to take a drive and see for yourself. One of these days, you’ll be able to drive past 192nd St. E. all the way to 208th. You are right! It doesn’t sound like a big deal….unless you live there. Then it is quite a big deal. That area is quite a mess at rush hour. It should help the Real Estate values some too!
See for yourself!!

This picture is taken from 192nd.

Here is the sign showing us some of the work to be done. This sign is off of 208th St. E.
You can also find information at the Pierce county website.

Here is what I have noticed about Christmas. Some people get so caught up in Christmas. They have enough lights out front to light up a small town. Others have very little. Some people have HUGE Christmas trees. Some have little ones in the corner.
We have a medium small tree in my office at Keller Williams Realty.
I’ve included some pictures from around town of trees and lights. Some of them are good, some are so-so.
I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas.
From all of us to all of you!!!
Ho, Ho, Ho!!! Merry Christmas!!!

This HUGE tree is at Willow Gardens.

Medium size tree in my office. This is of course is the small tree.

Maybe this is why Santa seems to be everywhere!!!

Christmas lights in my neighborhood.

This Gingerbread wall of names was made by the chef at Willow Gardens as
a reminder to all of us, that there are troops who will be serving in Iraq, risking
their lives for us, while we are safe at home having Christmas dinner!
Please join me in a little prayer for our friends and children who have died
for our freedom…and those who are there now to protect our way of life!!
From all of us…….Thank you!

I always enjoy vacations in Mexico. The people are so laid back, respectful and happy to meet me. Then there is the fact that they have so many dive spots to see so many animals, fish, eels, etc. This winter was my third trip to scuba dive. As you can tell I kind of like the area. If anyone has interest, Cozumel is a terrific place to vacation or to buy a little place in the sun. Some of the homes and Condos there, for sale, are reasonably priced under $200,000. The area is still experiencing heavy growth. There are quite a few Americans moving and buying homes there.
I took some pictures for you to enjoy………

Sunset through the rain cloud seen from our condo in Cozumel.

Rough seas on west shore Our new friend, Erminio, and us

Paradise Beach, Cozumel Paradise Beach, and 3 stone dolphins
I will have some more pictures for you in a future article.
If anybody has an interest in the Caribbean, and wants more information….Call Me!!!
There are some good buys, on a home or condo, in Cozumel for someone.

Yes my friends, someone in the Post Office has a heart. I know this is very UNofficial, because they might get in trouble if the big boys knew about it. But, we don’t even know what city this came from. It just showed up on someone’s email one day, forwarded by someone who saw it somewhere.
Read on………..
If the print is too small, call me and I will email you the large print article!
