I met this nice couple the other day. They are in the process of buying a home here in Puyallup. He just got back from his last tour in Iraq. He is proud to be an American, proud to be a Marine and, yes, proud of our Flag. Someone said once: “These colors don’t run!” That is pretty much his attitude.
We just talked for a few minutes and I said “Thank you for serving our Country” and “Doing whatever it takes” over there. Then he in turn said “Thank you for serving in Viet Nam.” It is still a little emotional to talk with these troops who have been over there and still …..they go back again!
I know I have said this before, Freedom is not Free. I guess this is a little bit of my soapbox talk here, but I think if you believe in an idea or a cause…you have to do something with that idea. Even if it is something small…..Do it!

This picture makes it look like Mt Rainier is puffing smoke rings, huh??
What I would like to know is why are the donut clouds over Mt Rainier and not another cloud in the sky??? I mean it is a great look, but what is going on?? Am I missing something? Can I say anything without asking a question??

I have this friend who makes these towers for any occasion…but mostly baby showers. They are filled with baby diapers, lotions, soaps and of course the little rubber ducky. Quack, Quack.
I didn’t bother ask how much she will make them for….but if any of you have a reason to know???? Call me and I will find out for you. Cute and functional. I have a friend who says the same thing about the Fireman Calender. But that’s not the point here.

I know I usually do the whole Pierce County statistics. This month we will just look at what the Puyallup, Graham/Frederickson area shows for the month and year to date. Most areas will mirror the statistics anyway. Some are a little more, some a little less. So here we go:
New Active Listings in June 2008: 306
” June 2007: 427
Total Active Listings in June 2008: 1229
Total Active Listings in June 2007: 1443
Total Closed Sales in June of 2008: 118
Total Closed Sales in June of 2007: 186
Median Sale Price in June of 2008: $261,500
Median Sale Price in June of 2007: $281,250
So, what does all this tell us???
Inventory is finally down …14.83%
Yes, so are prices….7.02%
Number of closed sales are down as well……36.66%
Less homes for sale, prices are down. It’s starting to look better for sellers.
I have read articles this week saying the same thing. It’s coming back. It won’t be tomorrow, but things are getting better.
So, if you are a buyer, think about this……Homes have come down in price, but the interest rates have gone up. So the prices of homes going down makes you think you are doing good by not buying. What is actually happening, in some cases while you have waited, your payment for the same home has actually gone up.

Directions to the Emergency Room.
This picture shows the hole where the new Patient Care Tower is going to begin.
Access to Good Samaritan Hospital will be forever changed. 14th Ave. SE, between 4th and 5th St SE will be closed to make room for the new $400 million Patient Care Tower. Access to the Emergency Room will be re-routed through 15th Ave. SE and go north on 5th St. SE.
I guess this means get used to it folks. If you haven’t been by there…..you need to go take a look. WOW!! What a deep hole they need to have to spend $400 million. Sure looks like it’s going to be nice, though.

I have met Sherri, Kierans wife. She is very helpful and a pleasure to work with. Now, I have not met Kieran yet. I have talked with a guy on the phone who claims to be Kieran. This is Ed, the owner of Destination Harley Davidson in Fife. Helping put this together! Take a trip and buy a bike from Ed….tell him Dennis says hey!!
This is just some of the bikes that were in the “Ride for the Troops” this Sunday. There are lots more around the corner.
I am sorry I didn’t get to see you all at Destination Harley Davidson in Fife on Sunday. The Harley dealership there was so helpful. There was lots to eat and people everywhere. I couldn’t count them all, but there must have been at least 500 bikes there for the Rally Ride for the Troops. They raised a lot of money and I’m sure….a lot of eyebrows on the freeway.
Some of the riders looked like what you would imagine in the old days……some looked like you and me. I talked with a couple that were retired, a school principal, an Air Force officer and more. It’s always impressive to see people out and doing “whatever it takes” to support our Troops.
