Ezra Meeker was one of the first settlers in our area. He is remembered as a founder and started the city, from a farm along the river.
I have taken a few pictures from around town to remind us. To this day, a lot of us Puyallup residents, take his name for granted.
As you can see, we have his name all around our fair city:

We see his statue in Pioneer Park.

We have a building with his name, housing a Real Estate Company. Keller Williams and the office of Dennis Endres.

This is the Meeker’s home, now restored and open to public viewing.

This Historic site in downtown Puyallup, drop in, it opens next month.

Who is this out in Ezra’s front yard? Getting ready to work the fields??
I have more pictures to show you……
So, keep tuned in and I’ll share some more of our heritage!!!

Like my good friend, Larry, says…..Yummy!!
I just talked to Jen at Indulge Cupcakes, downtown Puyallup. She says that after the article came out in The News Tribune, it’s been a little nuts at her Cupcake store on N. Meridian. So, my point is, if you want some cupcakes…..you better get down to Indulge Cupcakes early, or you might end with just the crumbs.
I have already told a bunch of my Realtor friends, and they love this place too!

I wonder what he’s dreaming about?

Imagine? Imagine what???

Veteran in the park…Remember the Fallen.
I believe I will do a mini series on the Art Downtown. There is a lot to see and I don’t want to clog one article with too many pictures.
I’ve included a few pieces for you to find or just enjoy here.
If you get stumped, just Call Me! Maybe I can help you figure out where they are.

Kidstown International

Chuck Valley from Puyallup, Wa and a very special friend, in Romania.

More children that Chuck and his group help.
Kidstown International is a group of special people, here at home and abroad, helping orphans in Romania, India and Nepal. It’s a tough life there. A friend of mine, here in Puyallup, is very deeply involved. He sponsors and helps others in our community to help as well.
Chuck Valley, local businessman, has been helping this cause for quite a while now. Some of us have not even heard of this organization…Yet he has been overseas, giving what he can.

A special thank you to the people from the US Post Office for helping us.

Just one of many Top Foods baskets full of contributions.

Linda and Dennis stuffing packages for the Troops overseas.

Marjie Madlena and Dennis Endres, stuffing packages for the troops….. both work out of Keller Williams Realty office in Puyallup.
I keep reminding you about Vicky Mohler and her gang of volunteers. She and a bunch of her helpers packaged and mailed over 145 care packages to our deployed Troops this last weekend.
For those of you who don’t know…there are a lot of young folks over there with no family, and no one to write to. They don’t get any cookies in the mail. They don’t even get mail. If you, or someone you know, would like to write someone…Please, Call me or Vicky!!!
We want to extend our thanks to all of you who contributed and to Top Foods for their support and allowing us to use their space to do all the packing we did.

Ethan Offenbecher awarding Dennis Endres the “Ambassador of the Year”.
Realtor, Dennis Endres of Keller Williams Realty in Puyallup, was honored this week by the Puyallup/Sumner Chamber of Commerce. Awarded the “Ambassador of the Year” award, in this civic minded, for business people organization. One of the Chamber’s functions is to help local businesses to get a good footing. Grow forth and prosper.
Well, apparently, I was seen doing just that. Help the people. Show up. Do what’s needed when asked. Meet the members and talk about business. It doesn’t sound that difficult……..maybe some of you should call me. Ask how you can get involved. It’s a small commitment. Only a few hours a week or even a few hours a month.
I was so surprised when given the award, I could only utter a weak……”thank you”.
Would you like to help your business grow? Help your community? Get Involved?
Call Dennis today. The Ambassador of the Year looks forward to assisting you in Helping Our Community….at 253 683-3100.

You can see Alton’s big sign out front.

This is where you pull in to ask Alton about your vehicle.
A couple weeks ago my wife backed her car into a ditch. Since then, it was making those grinding noises and not shifting right. Well, knowing Alton, I sent my wife down to see him. You remember Alton. I wrote an article about his automotive repair shop on 112th St. E. in Puyallup a few months ago.
You guessed it!! He fixed it for her and for a ridiculously low price. At least she thought it was the best price that she would have gotten anywhere.
Here is the BEST part. It’s fixed and it only took a couple of hours!!
Alton continues to amaze me. I’m glad he doesn’t sell Real Estate…..He would be my fiercest competitor. He does his job like I do mine! Get the job done right for a fair price.
Alton…..let’s make a deal….I won’t fix cars, if you won’t sell homes!!!
Your friendly local Realtor at Keller Williams Realty, Dennis Endres.

Back in the day, Farmers worked here, lived here.
This picture is just one of the examples of why we love living in Puyallup. Not just because it’s a great place to live, not because it’s cheaper to buy a home in Puyallup, not even because cars are cheaper in Puyallup.
For me, it’s the quality here. It’s because when you catch someone’s eye and smile, they smile back. It’s because when you are pulling out of Starbucks on to a crowded busy street, someone will let you in. Because it’s written in the city code….You have to like people to live here(sometimes we wish)!!!
I found this painted art on the side of a business building downtown.
There is a lot of art around downtown. I will be bringing you more art as time goes on.
When you travel the city and you notice the art….on a building, standing on a corner, or in the park……..take a minute and reflect. Someone made this art for you and me to see!!!
I am just a country boy, turned Realtor….but this my town.
Thanks for listening,
Dennis Endres

My friend just wrote an article on how cool it is to try Tacoma Boys. Any time of day or night. Wander in, pickup a snack or a tray of veggies, meat, flowers….I think they have it all! Puyallup has a store on the corner of 112th St. E. and 94th Ave. E.
Try it….You’ll like it!
